K'gari (Fraser Island)

K’gari (Fraser Island) is the world’s largest sand island and has some of the most changing and picturesque hiking trails. Although the island is most popular for 4WD and camping, hiking is (in our opinion) the best way to see the island.

Not only is it less populated, you travel across such changing landscapes. From paperbark forest, to sandy plains through to rainforest – these trials will not disappoint!

You will need to take a ferry across to the island, either in your own 4WD, hired or transfered. You can head over from Inskip point north of Noosa or from Hervey Bay.

There are a few hiking you can do in a day, or you can do the full 90km Great Walk. See in the below tab our recommendations.

We have partnered with Fraser Island Hiking who offer transfers for the adventurous hikers, or supported ‘pack-free’ hikes. Find Out More Here. Get 15% off all tours*, book here.
