Located in BUNYA MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK in the Southern Queensland Country region. Approx 3hrs from Brisbane. This is a 12km return trail and is suitable for most ages and fitness levels. Allow 4hours.
This is a return track which you can add on Westcott to Cherry Plain if you wanted to make it a longer walk. This trail is on the eastern facing part of the mountains so it is more Australiana bush rather the rainforest. There are a few lookouts along the way with some great sections of single trail hiking. We recommend you add on Mt Kiangarow as the views from here would have to be the best. If you start Download the full Bunya Mountains National Park parks map here.
3hours north of west of Brisbane and 1.5hrs north of Toowoomba. If you search for Cherry Plain in google maps, it will take you there.
What do you need:
If you are doing a short walk, comfortable clothing and shoes along with at least 1.5L of water is suitable. If you are going to add on the trails to make it a longer walk then ensure you take a minimum of 3L of water along with snacks.
The views are lovely and the trails are great, just be prepared as you won’t have phone reception. We recommend you take a personal locater device should you run into any issues.
